Chester Beatty P46
P46 is the designation for one of the oldest New Testament manuscripts in Greek. It was written on papyrus, probably between AD 175 and 225, and originally contained 104 leaves. Fifty-six leaves of P46 are in the Chester Beatty Library in Dublin, Ireland; 30 leaves are at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. You can find out much more at the informative website of the University of Michigan.
The pages in the Chester Beatty Library are available online on the Chester Beatty's Digital Collections website. The 30 leaves at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, are online, although the site is difficult to navigate. Peter Head indexed them in a forum of Evangelical Textual Criticism so that you can more easily access the 60 pages (each of the 30 leaves has a front and back). Just click on the page you want to see. They are listed half way through the forum post. |
