Codex Vaticanus
Codex Vaticanus can be viewed online on the website of the Vatican Library Digitization Project. This project, started in 2010, aims to digitize the entire collection of manuscripts in the Vatican Apostolic Library, including 80,000 codices. Codex Vaticanus (Vat.gr.1209) was made available in 2015. A major contributor to the cost of digitization is the Polonsky Foundation, created by Dr. Leonard Polonsky, chairman of Hansard Financial Trust.
The website can be a bit slow to load and all images are watermarked. You can scroll through the pages, or, by clicking at the top left, you can get an index that lets you jump to the beginning of various books of the Bible. Each new book in the codex begins with a colored bar. |
