Codex Aureus of St. Emmeram

The Codex Aureus of St. Emmeram is at the Bavarian State Library in Munich and can be seen at the Library’s website. A challenge is that everything is in German, although if you access it on Chrome, Google will translate it for you. You can see the lavish cover and selected pages here and view the entire codex here. Click on “Miniaturansicht” (thumbnails) and you can see small pictures of five pages at a time. Click on “5 >>” to see the next five miniatures. Click on a miniature and the page will enlarge. View image 00014 and 00015, for instance, to see pages full of artwork. To find out more about the Library's manuscript collection, go to its website.
