Some of the World's Most Important Bibles

Constantin von Tischendorf had to travel for ten days across a desert on camelback to find the oldest complete copy of the New Testament. You don’t have to travel to Jerusalem to see the Great Isaiah Scroll or to London to see Codex Sinaiticus. You can see them on the Internet in more detail than you could in real life.

To the right are some of our favorite sites - just click on the name.

If you know of other sites containing  copies of interesting or significant Bibles and manuscripts, let the author, Larry Stone, know so we can make this a more complete resource and update it as new images become available.

  • The Great Isaiah Scroll
  • Codex Sinaiticus
  • Chester Beatty Papyrus P46
  • The Aleppo Codex
  • Codex Amiatinus
  • Morgan Crusader's Bible
  • Lindisfarne Gospels
  • Book of Kells
